My Bose system on my Hunter 38 2005 loses power after a half hour or so. This is the second time this has happened. The first time I sent it to the Bose factory for repair $150.00. I've heard it's fuse problem, not sure if it's in the base module or radio. It's powered by a 600 inverter and it has happened while just getting power from DC only and while plugged into 30 amp. Any thoughts?

Bose, like every other electronics vendor uses the least cost/meets specs suppliers. I have repaired dozens of Bose car and small home electronics simply by cleaning the grunge (some left in assembly) off pins and lands (traces on the boards). Even more marine systems as the moisture and closed spaces where they are installed provide a perfect environment for stuff to grow on them.

Were it me, I would open things up and inspect before sending it back to them for repair. Some Qtips and alcohol may solve it, or fuse replacement. The car units, most mounted in the side well of the trunk are well over $300 to be looked at, repair even more. And you need the exact replacement module to work with the powered stuff that is installed in the car.

YMMV

Bose systems are not cheap and you would think they would use quality in their system and glad I never get their systems if it does not hold up,I would take it a part and check it out first and also when it does loose power get a meter and check where the power is lost and take it from there.
