I just bought a daysailerII (about 16 1/2 ft) and didn't realize it had no boom until I got it home and tried to rig it up. Obviously I am a novice sailor and cheap. The ex-owner has agreed to help find the boom or a boom but I desperately need help. I also need new "guy" wires (is that the correct spelling?). I know that O'day is no longer in business but is there any way I can track down the record of this vessel or some specs. I do have the serial number. Advice on cleanup, and refurbishing is very much welcomed too. Thanks for all offers of help.

Cape Cod Shipbuilding

For most O'day parts, Rudy is the guy, but for the Daysailer you want to call Cape Code Ship Builders in Mass. Go to http://www.four.net/~ccsb/ccsbhp.html CCSB is still building new Daysailers and stock all sorts of parts. I've gotten a centerboard, rudder, and standing rigging from them. Gotta talk to Rudy

Your best contact is Rudy at D&R Marine. As the story goes, he was the parts Manager at the company that made the DS II. I have one and love it. Give him a call at 508 644 3001. They have lots of parts for the DS II at the best prices. If Rudy ever gets a computer, he will be the most popular guy on line. If you have any specific questions, drop me a note.
