Boom vang

I am thinking of installing a ridgid "Boom Vang on my Hunter 30 1988. I have narrowed down my choice to either 1. Boomkicker or 2. Garhauer. Has anyone used either and if so did they work as promisedThanksGerald.

I've had both

I've owned both. For the money and performance, Garhauer is the only way to go!!Stronger, has a built in pulley system, etc.

You can't miss

I also have had both. The Garhauer is excellent, strong although heavy. I now have Boom Kicker which does the job and is lighter. If you have to buy a vang anyway then it is a no brainer, get the Garhauer. i had a vang and added another pulley to double the purchase. For an extra $150 get the solid vang. I really can't understand anyone having a topping lift anymore.

What Hunter is installing

My new Hunter 306 came with a boom kicker, so I guess that is the manufacturers choice. Works great.
