Someone decided to help themselves to my boom vang, so I'm in the market for a new one. Plenty of them out there, but I really don't want to overspend, so.....can someone suggest a good solid set up (model numbers) that will last, yet not send me to the poor house?? Nothing from China please!!!

Check at a boat yard. 90% of the time they will have an older used one for cheap.

all good sources but prices are very competitive on this site and they have the data on your boat anyway as to what should be in way of blocks

Solution to Boom Vang

Well, I spent quite some time researching boom gangs and different companies and I have to say:

1. I found Garhauer on sale (20%) and the quality of their stainless steel Vang for my 23.5 was impressive. Talk about craftsmanship, I ended up paying $143 for a beauty with snap shackles included.....amazing!!

2. Can't wait to try it!!

It won't disappoint. We have one of theirs on our boat. Quality stuff, (and I believe they make them right in their shop).
