Boom vang or preventer

I'm full of questions this week. Thanks to those who answered my hatch and portlight question. My H27 doesn't have a boom vang or preventer. Has anyone installed one on a H27 or similiar model? Any recommendations on good equipment that's not too expensive. Hope everyone has a good Memorial day weekend filled with lots of sailing.

You need to get a vang for your boat to ...

improve reaching and running points of sail performance. Many skippers use the vang also as a preventer by using a snap shackle to attach the vang to the mast step while close hauling and close reaching or to the toe rail when broad reaching and running. Terry
