Looking for a boom support stand while my boat sits between sailings. Currently I rest it on the tiller. There has to be a better way.

Thanks

Not sure if your boat has a backstay but if so just attach a pigtail to it.

I use a Boom Kicker with the standard flexible vang (http://www.boomkicker.com/). The model 750 Kicker on my 216 keeps the boom level when the length is properly adjusted - I cut an inch or two off the fiberglass rods while measuring to lower it a little. I hate messing with a topping lift as I'd always forget when lowering the main and drop my boom in the cockpit. Installation of the Kicker took about an hour, the worst part being the measuring five times to make certain it was in the correct place before drilling and taping holes. The video instructions were very straightforward. A boom crutch on a 21 foot boat is just one more thing to store during sails.

Thank you Parsons for that good advice. Some will install a topping lift like I did for my customers. to the fellow who does not know the Hunter 216, there is no backstay; thus no pigtail in this case.
