Hi, this is my second year sailing and I'm really enjoying my 1981 Catalina 22 (and so are my friends. They all think it's the coolest thing ever that I bought a sailboat.)
Anyway, the one thing I'm still struggling with is the way the boom rubs on top of the bimini when I tack. This can't be good for it.
What do I need? A topping lift, a boom kicker, or the plate that covers the mainsail entrance slot on the mast so I can hike up the mainsail higher?
Any insight to this problem would be much appreciated.
