Hey folks! I need a boom for my 22' I'm restoring. I'm fairly new to sail, what I'm wondering; Can I use a boom from another brand boat? Obviously considering proper length, cutting down if needed, Changing the hardware to match the new boom, etc. I'm in the Northern Va. area, near Winchester. Help, direction, greatly appreciated!!! Used C22 boom

I'd suggest that you check out Chip Ford's Catalina 22 Discussion List. There are 250 to 300 C22 owners on there and many folks that have salvaged boats and have lots of spare used parts in all parts of the country. You can get to his great web site at www.chipford.com and then sign up for the discussion group. There is quite a brain trust there for C22s and if you're restoring or working on one that's where you can get instant answers to anything related to C22s.
