Boom kicker instalation

I bought a boom kicker for my 170. One end of the kicker needs to go in the mast slot, but the vang attachment on the mask looks to be permanently attached to the mast.

Can this vang attachment be removed and replaced? If, so how?

Normally installing a boom kicker will not affect the vang installation. My boom kicker is installed completely inside the triangle created by the boom, mast and vang.

The boomkicker came with a drill bit and a tap to install the boom attachment

You can also drill and tap into the mast if you cant get into the slot. The install kit should have a set of longer screws for that option.
