I have a Stoboom
I have a Stoboom on my '85 C27. It was installed by a previous owner. In my opinion, furling the main in or on the boom has its advantages and disadvantages, but as far as the Stoboom goes, so far I'm finding it more hassle than its worth. Everything has to be just perfect with the universe in order for it to furl in one try. Supposedly you can reef the main with the Stoboom to any number of infinate positions but I have a hard time getting it to furl in decent weather. In fact, I've been piecing together the required hardware to re-fit my boat with a standard boom and have everything now but the sail. And to anyone who is looking to buy a Stoboom, I'd gladly trade mine for a half decent used main for a C27 TR.
