I am looking for a boom for my 1977 Hunter 30 to replace a damaged one. I originally posted this on the Cherubini forum but that was limiting my exposure. Does anyone out there know of any salvage yards that may carry such a boom. Please help me my sailing season is limited.

I have access to a boom that came off a 1984-5 Hunter 31 that appears to be in very good condition. If you think it might work I can get more specific info to you. Just send me an email and I'll check it out this weekend.

I believe the Hunter 31 used an Isomat spar and the Hunter 30 a much different animal. I don't recall the exact section of a H-30, but it would be similar to either a Kenyon section or a LeFiell section (California - still in business). Kenyon (which is my best guess) can be gotten from Kim at Rig Rite. I am quite sure the H-31 section will not work.

B Bill is correct that the later H'31 was an Isomat spar. I think that the early 31's were actually Kenyon. I could NOT tell you when the change was made.

Thank you all for your input. When I took the boom down there was a decal on it that said Schaefer Spars. I called Schaefer and they said that they hadn't made spars for years. The cross section of the boom is very much like the Kenyon E configuration. It is also like the Spartan CD-3 and the RigRite #6. Whether it is close enough for my hardware to fit is another story. I think I will try to get a salvaged boom with the hardware. Thanks
