I need to replace the three broken sheaves (2 reefing and the outhaul)at the end of the boom on my H31. Does the entire assembly, namely the rod and the three sheaves come out from the end and if so how? Finally where does one get replacement sheaves? Thank you. Ed

Seco or Rig-rite.

Ed: I have never removed these so I am not going to be any help. I would think that there is a clip that holds the pin in place. If I could see mine, maybe I could help. As far as the parts, you should be able to get them from Rig-rite or Seco. I do not have their web site or phone numbers handy, but you may be able to find them in the archives.

Seco South (Largo, FL) number is 727-536-1924. Rig-Rite has a web site, but I don't believe Seco does.

SHEEVES

Ed: Charleston spars in Charlotte, NC should also have replacement sheves for your Isomat (now defunct) boom. I bought a new gooseneck assembly from them a few months ago and they have almost all replacement Isomat parts. Replacing the sheeves is a piece of cake. Remove the topping lift cable and pry the pin out the "channel" in the fitting. Remove/replace the sheeves (recommend puting some silicone greese), put the whole thing back on the fitting and you're done. 5 minute job if you are an idiot like me...2 minutes for the rest of you! Good luck! Tim Leighton (recent ex-31 owner)
