We splashed yesterday and got the mast raised while we were at it. As I was rigging the boat today, I noticed that there was no place to attach the vang to the boom. There are two holes on either side of the boom about where I would think the vang would attach but no fitting. Anybody know how to connect the vang? Is it to a fitting similar to the mainsheet?

It should have some kind of bail or shackle to attatch to. I wonderif the holes in the boom had a bolt to go through and there was a loop there to connect the vang to. A couple of boats we had were set up that way anyway. Rob Morton

Hi Bill, We have a h23 and it isn't set up like the 25, so I don't have a picture or part # for you. You might look in the photo archives sometimes you can see a picture of what you are looking for in the background of another photo. Someone else may have some more info for you. There's a loop that straddles the boom
There's a loop on the boom, I think its just bolted on and straddles both sides. I could take a few pictures of mine for you this weekend if you want.

Loops are similar I think
Bill, From memory, I think the main sheet loop is very similar, the vang loop is mounted on an angle pointing towards the base of the mast, whereas the mainsheet loop points straight down. I'll be down at the boat this weekend, so I'll take some pics and post to my web site and let you know. - Mel
