Boom comming apart

Anyone had this problem Where the boom attaches to the mast the boom tube pop riverts to the boom attachment to the mast and for the second time it has parted I have a boom vang all the force is into ths mast why does it come apart. sorry about the spelling

...on his 31. Don't know why. Were good-quality compatible rivets used the first time it was fixed? His came apart after an overnight race with the main slatting about downwind. Rick D.
