Has anyone installed a boom brake on a Vision 36?
I'd like to install one, but have no attachment points and it seems like the dodger would be in the way.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike:

We added a bail to the boom. In order to do this we needed to grind out a small area of the bottom of the boom so you can slide in the bail.

NB2 Boom Bail Ass'y: NB2-15A (find this on the rigrite.com site).

Once the area was ground out you can slide the bail into place. Then we put an as Gyb-ez in place. This is then attached to folding pad eyes on the deck approx. even with the mast.

PS: I need to see what you did with your setup for the reefing when time permits.

Hi Steve:

This is how I re-rigged it.

It was basically upside down and missing the blocks at the bottom of the mast. It works pretty good now.
