Booking for Rendevous

Hi Guys,

I just called Deer Harbor requesting a slip for Albin Vega Rendezvous, and have
been put on a waiting list for a slip.
He mentioned that we may have to do some rafting up, as it is their busiest time
of the year. He said that the harbor is a great place for anchoring out; that
its a fluid situation, and that we both should keep in contact.

Thought I would share this information, so that others who are planning to
attend should inform the Marina of the intended presence if they have not
already done so.

My boat is a Rhodes 22, called "Gentle Breeze." She has a blue hull, white
deck; and I would be launching from Skyline Marina in the Fidalgo Head area,
close to Washington Park on the Evening of the June 30th, or on the morning of
Friday July 1st.

I'm looking forward to meeting some experienced sailors, and getting a closer
look at the Albin Vega. She sounds like a most impressive boat.

Hey Caesar,
We have a mooring buoy in Deer Harbor. It is due west of the Dock Store over by
the cliff side of Deer Harbor. It is marked with the red 4-point Vega Star.
If you can't get into the marina, you can certainly tie up to our buoy.
Anchoring is also good in Deer Harbor--mud bottom, about 40 feet deep at the
height of the tide. Also, my husband and I have made reservations at the Deer
Harbor Marine for our boat, but we have a year 'round slip just across the
harbor at Cayou Quay marina--we could just stay home and give our slip to any
Vegatarians who need a slip at Deer Harbor. My point is...don't stay home if
the marina can't accommodate you, and let me know what your situation is...I'll
try to figure out how to accommodate everyone who wants to come.

Sheila

Sheila,

Thanks for your kind offer. One way or the other I have firm plans be there.

I will be sailing with a fleet of four to eight boats for one week in your area
for June 18th to June 25th.

We plan to spend the 20th and 21st of June either in Deer Harbor, or Roche
Harbor. Deer harbor has now become the more favored destination. If you and or
your husband are around, it might be fun to arrange a brief visit with you guys,
and to get a first hand look at the area.

At the end of this trip, my boat will remain at Skyline Marina, from which I
will launch either on Thursday June 30th or Friday May 1st for the Albin Vega
Rendezvous.
