My jib forestay is too long by a couple of inches even after tightening the turnbuckle to the max. The Harken furler I have on it is hard to unfurl because of it's looseness and I have trouble trimming the jib enough for close-hauled, too. I intend to cut the forestay a bit, but I don't know what the cable clamp and bolt (one piece) that clamps on the end of a side stay or forestay cable is called and where I can get one. Thanks in advance. Rich

YOu need advice

First do not even think of cutting a forestay and using a thinble with a clamping device. YOu are asking for trouble. Before we proceed, I need to know some facts. Which boat and year? Is this the orginal forestay with the boat. Have you or anyone tried to tune it lately? We need details.
