Weren't you going to tell us Bob? About your H37C chart storage pictures on the "Photo Forum"? That's a great idea. I'll have to move my radio, it's mounted under there. But it will be a real improvement over stuffing them in the table with everything else that is in there. What is that mounted on your companionway stairway Bob, a vent or a heater? Does it add to the noise level? Your interior has the varnished look like my 1979. A 1984 in our marina has the natural look so I assume you did the varnishing? Thanks for the photos.

Not Pictures - got TIME (retired now)

Hi Ed. Hope to contribute a little more to the group, now that I have a little more time. Mounted on the companionway stairway is a Dot? heater. It is a forced air heater with a two speed fan. Runs off the engine hot water just like a car heater. It really puts out and is wonderful when motoring on a cold miserable day. It's a little noisy on the high fan speed but you can't hear it over the engine noise. Of course it doesn't help much when sailing. Here in the Puget Sound, I'm sorry to say, we motor about 80% of the time, if we want to get somewhere. The interior teak is finished with Seafin. It has a slight shine to it which is accentuated by the flash.

Retired?!

Seems like an epidemic, I know so many who have or will soon. Actually this was to be my last year until daughter #3 announced a November wedding. Is that heater commercially available? And did you retain the hot water heater plumbing? Sounds like an excellent solution to those start and end of season weeks.

Heater

Ed, I believe there are many different commercially available heaters like that. I belive mine is a Red Dot, model R-254 (or an older equivalent model). The water heater is still plumbed in and un affected. See: http://www.rdac.com/prod-cat-r254-6.html West Marine carries Heater Craft. Check them out at: http://heatercraft.com/
