Boat's name change

OK! I would like to change the name of my boat, and some people tell me that "it s bad luck", other people tell me there is a way to do it without affecting your "luck", I am not a chicken but just in case let's do it the right way.
ANY ONE KNOWS?

There are many rituals available online, if you buy into them. Just search on Google for "boat name change." Even so, I still blame any oddities I encounter on the previous owner, and there's no ceremony to undo what he did.

I just changed the name of my Cat 30 -- opted for one of the cerimonies for fun and caution - makes a great party excuse!!
