anyone have comments about the difference in performance between the Catalina 27 shoal
(3'6") and the standard 4' keel. I live in Sarasota, Fl. and could benefit from the shallow draft, but don't want to give up too much in performance (pointing). The shoal model I'm looking at is a tall rig, the standard keel model is a standard rig.
Would appreciate any comments.

I've got no personal experience, but reviews I've read from other sources seem to indicate a 1-2 degree loss in pointing performance with a wing.

If you need the wing keel, get it. You won't miss the small loss in pointing ability.
