I'm looking for a boat yard with lift capabilities that allow DIY work on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, particularly in the Pass Christian/Bay St. Louis area. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks, BrianW

Not real close but Pitalo's Marine over in Gautier has a 70 T lift and use to be real reasonable for price as well as let you DIY. It's been years since I'm out of the area so I can't give you a current recommendation. Good luck

Lake Catherine Marina is about 30 miles from Bay St. Louis.

This is N&E's post:
For those of you in the New Orleans area, I have found a marina for DIY, that doesn't kill you on the prices. It's pretty small, and is a two man operation, so you sort of have to have a reservation to get your boat in. Most of the traffic there is commercial, oyster boats, shrimpers, and crabbers, but if you have a sailboat, you will be made welcome. And here is the real deal. PULL AND SPLASH is a pretty standard 10 bucks a foot. But. Yard fees for DIY are 15 per day, with the first three days FREE. The only other marina on this end of the lake with a travel lift is now charging a doller per foot per day, and there are no free days. He has diesel, but not gas. And you don't get nickel and dimed to death. Very friendly, and they actually come by from time to time and talk to you. Name if the place is Lake Catherine Marine, and it is on the canal that runs behind Fort Pike. About a mile and a half or two from the Hwy. 90 bridge. Just be real sure to pass the first green marker behind Fort Pike well to port. I don't need to explain how I know this.

Thanks for your comments so far! I'll be going from trailer to lift, and back on trailer this first time. Please keep recommendations coming! BrianW

It's Been a Long Time

Rebel was the boat yard that came to mind.

Is there one in Slidell?
