Boat sharing in LA/SoCal

Hi all,

I have a 1986 Mac 25 on a trailer and I'm looking to set up some sort of boat sharing deal in exchange for use of a slip. I have no experience here and I'm just looking for any advice on what a standard agreement like this might look like and where I might find the right type of partner. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Ryan, I've seen your ads on CL and thought to myself that you probably going to find it hard difficult to find someone unless they own waterfront property w/dock to pay for your slip. First off, the marina wont approve it unless you are on the agreement. They will also want your boat to be insured and most have a $300k liability policy. I know it's a pain to keep trailering and launching your boat but it might make the best sense.

Yeah, I hear you...I'm finding this process a bit challenging. Part of the reason I am looking to set up a boat sharing deal with someone is that the trailer is becoming quite inconvenient where it is currently parked. I would even be willing to consider an outdoor parking area for the trailer somewhere near a convenient boat ramp, but here at my house we really need to use the parking spot for a tenant. Should I just keep trying CL? Are there other boards?
