Boat Portrait

We would like to give our boss upon his retirement a painting of his Hunter 36 (2006 or 2007?). Does anyone know of any artists that do this type of work or could at least paint a portrait of the generic boat with the proper colors, etc.? Thanks!

Probably best to look/talk to some local art gallery folks . Find a nicely done boat and contact that artist and ask if they'll do it.. There should be a few in the Annapolis area who might even specialize in boat portraits

Boaters are pretty picky when it comes to boat pictures in that a generic picture may look close to you but he will see a big difference. I'd suggest you figure out a way to get a photo of his boat and either have it re-done with some special effects or use it as a guide for an artist to replicate

Another posibility is an aerial photo of your boss's boat. An online company 'boatpix.com' takes pictures of boats at various events or just out sailing and if you e-mail them the boats state registration number, they will check their records to see if they have a photo of the boat. I was cruising off Morehead City, NC a few years ago and they happened to get some shots of my boat. They were great and I bought one. They digitally remove fenders or defects on the boat. The shot below is the one I bought. Worth a try.

COSTCO will take your picture and put it on canvas. 8x10 is about 60 bucks. They do smaller and bigger.

I totality agree and would definitely have the artist work from an actual picture of his boat. Two other nice options as suggested are a boat pics arial enhansed framed picture or a nice have hull model of his boat. I
Like the half hull model I have seen here best. 2nd on the painting of his actual boat maybe using an arial picture as a go by.
