Hello! Time to decide on THE boat name. I have considered Anitabreak II, but as I have just returned from an extended stay in Tasmania (and LOVED every second) I have a few more names to add the the list: Barramundi (Australian fish, kewl name) Kanga Wombat Ausmerica Kookaburra These are not Australia inspired: Eudaimonic (striving toward excellence based on ones unique talents and potential) Do What U Love If you'd like to "vote" on a name it would be a big help!!!! Thanks!!

My thoughts...

The name should jump out at you. It should have meaning that important to you. What we like are names we should name our boats, not your's. I would wait until you find a name that speaks to you, and you know is right. Every boat has a different feel and that could give you a name. Just my thoughts..Jack

Also,

It should be something that when you say your name "S/V xxxx" on the radio, you don't sound like an idiot.

Let the name find you. Wait!!! Is this a used or new, meaning did it have a name already. I personally wouldn't let a vote from other people decide what I would have to live with.

Windabout

So you go on a little walkabout in Ozland and you come back with a boat Why not name her Windabout? But my choice from the list was Barramundi.

All of those you have on the list are nice. I'd like to add my vote to letting it stew for a while & go with what finds you. We argued in our family for a while. I liked Carrantouhill (long story), but the family hated it & it didn't pass the "Hail" test, too much of a tongue-twister. In the end, we couldn't agre on a name & stayed with her name as it has always been, Grasshopper. We weren't worried about any bad karma for changing the name, it just seemed to fit her & we couldn't come up with anything better. My 2¢.

Hi there I also have just been to Tassie, but I only had to travel from Wollongong, about 50 km south of Sydney. What about the Tassie Tiger? My 240 didn't have a name when I bought it second hand. I called it Aquarius ie the water carrier. David

Play on words

I always like the play on word boat names. Kind of like personal liscence plates. So I like your AnitaBreak the best - I', assuming that Anita likes it too!

Hi David

We were in Sydney for 5 days. Did the Kookaburra challange on "Sprit"....AWESOME! I was able to be at the helm for about 30 minutes, pure joy. What a boat!! I loved Tasmania, I was visiting my pen-friend I've had for 35 years! He lives in Margate with his family. We did lots of sailing at Kingston Beach Sailing club. I was also lucky enough to sail with David Graney on Rocket Alice, from Blackmans Beach out to Iron Pot, then back up the Derwent to Hobart. Also met Cathy Hawkins. It was a wonderful month to be sure! Anita

I always liked "Business"

It passes the hail test (good point, Jack) and you get to tell people that you can't be reached for the next two weeks because you'll be away on business. Peter H23 "Raven"
