The mrs wants to change the interior colors some, specially the green upholstry is starting to wear on her and she wants something lighter... the cabin is dark and I this does sound like a good idea, perhaps not as good as a folding prop but more visible I guess. anyone changed the interior of their boat have any tips on color and materials ? also the all important price... are there kits out there for our boat (99 361) or other places we can get the uphostry done with measurements ? any comments would help. thanks Gaute

Check your cushions

Gaute, check the underside of your cushions for a tag from the manufacturer. I know ours has at least one, which I believe is from Sailnet. Apparently they have (had?) a contract with Beneteau to build the cushions. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll do my best to remember to look this week. In the event they're not handling it any more you can always go to a local canvas maker. Most of them also deal in recovering cushions. Let me know how you make out. Mike

interior

We redid our interior about 3 years ago. The grey was replaced with dark blue. We picked out a really nice navy blue material and then the wife and I got to the business of making new.. It was really simple using the old for the patern.. total cost was around 300.00.. the hi-dence foam was the biggest cost. It really dressed up the inside and gave it a richer look.

$300 sounds nice

thanks Mike and Randy, I checked the pillows and there was a florida company on there so it could be sailnet, had a number too... not called them yet. We got sunbrella fabric for a shade over the hatch, we'll make that ourselves but not sure we'r skilled enough to make pillows. the guys there recommended sunbrella marine interior but at $25 in the store and $10 on ebay its not cheap pr yard... I'm calling FL tomorrow we'll see what they say, we'r trying to go lighter with a darker tan seat and lighter back, the mrs thinks the dark green is too dark...

What you might like to do

is take your old cushions to a local automobile/RV/home upholstery shop for an estimate. I took my old cockpit cushions, which I hated, to a local auto guy and got a complete set, nine pieces in all, of thicker foam, with the zippers moved to a better location, with a different material, for $600, less than half what a local marine guy wanted to charge me for a straight re-do of my old ones. But in the end, I picked up two of those dark blue WM folding stadium chairs with the back for when we're underway. They're easier to use and are more comfortable, too. We only use the whole she-bang set when we're anchored/moored or having a party at the dock.
