boat insurance

i am glad i was self insured in usa--- here in mexico one needs insurance for marinas and for checking into places.... liability here for 50k is 211 dollars per year. covers alll of mexico.
if you plan on travelling , might be a good idea to find out where you are truly covered. many policies only cover ye to salsipuedes on the west coast,, which isnt even to ensenada......just a thought. might wanna avoid having to get another insurance later?

I couldn't get BoatUS as they won't insure in Alaska. My insurance, Allstate, would not not insure it as it is over 30 years old. Giego was about half the price of progressive. Allstate left me in bind as i thought everything was set till I went to pay them,so had to get something in a hurry. I went online then later got a hold of a local Giego office and was even cheaper there. Haven't really had a chance to look over policy yet.

sounds like you are looking for comprehensive coverage. goood luck. liability is n0 problem getting for older boats, and is allthat is NEEDED in marinas and other countries. dont damage the sandbar ye woke up on..LOL
