Boat for Sail

I have been driving past this puppy for quite some time now. Today I decided to grab a couple of pictures. Any comments?

Twin bilge keels = 'very' slow boats.

Westerly

It looks like a 1970's vintage Westerly. Maybe the Centaur or the Nomad. Very heavily built boats that you can sail anywhere, but slowly!

My dad had a Tylercraft as his first plastic boat. The topsides did not flare like that. The Westerly did. Built in UK.

You will see a lot of these twin keel boats in Europe especially in the English Channel where they get some hellacious weather. Remember the Spanish Armada. Yeah that weather. They are stable but as mentioned slower. Fair Winds and Full Sails...

They are great when the tide strands you. They don't flop over. If you run aground trying to heel them is futile.

This boat has been sitting for at least 3 1/2 years. It's a shame - I am sure that the work required to restore her increases exponentially as time passes.

Sail plan is small, designed for North Sea, etc., where the wind blows hard all the time. In light air areas in US, they are not well suited.
