I am looking for a boat cover for my Oday Javelin 14' sailboat. This boat has to live in my driveway and withstand a Pennsylvania winter. Does anyone have recommendations? Any help would be appreciated. Last year's tarp was a tattered disaster by spring.

Taylor Made

Tayolor made makes a whole line of covers for smaller boats. Measure beam and length carefullfy (just to be certain) and hit your favorite marine retailer. Don't settle for whatever they have if they don't have the correct one. Order the right one and you will be happier. Spend the money on a decent strut to prop it up, and on straps to run from the prop to the gunwales. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

BoatUS has a heavier tarp.

Have lived with those blue tarps for a couple of seasons. They are cheap and keep the snow out but only last one winter. Just bought a heavier tarp from BoatUS, silver on one side and black on the other. About $35. for a 12x20.

Silver tarps

You can also get the heavier duty tarps at Home Depot. They're in with the blue tarps but they're silver and much heavier. Mine's came through last winter (very windy) like a champ. Just a couple of wear spots that I "patched" with duct tape. Can't even see 'em! LaDonna

West Marine has heavier tarp

And I notice that at least in my area West marine is usually less expensive than Boat US

Harbor Freight

I agree that the purpose-made canvas boat covers are the best, but for those that want to stay on the cheap side my son-in-law, who works for Harbor Freight Tools, tells me that the silver tarps outlast the blue tarps by several seasons.
