On my 1987 H23, there is a boarding ladder attached to the transom. It appears to be original equipment except for one of the rungs is missing an endcap which makes that step "unuseable". The cap is white and made out of what appears to be a platic/rubber substance. It plugs intothe end of the rung and then a screw goes throughthe plug to anchor the rung into position. The previous owner kept the boat in a slip and did not use the boarding ladder. In fact, he removed the endcap so that he could install a wind vane for his autohelm there (and then lost the endcap!).I have looked all over the ladder but can not find any manufacturer ID. Does anyone know if the 87 H23 came with a boarding ladder from the factory? Any idea where to get a replacement endcap?I checked around the two big boat stores up here and they offered to sell me a whole new boarding ladder. Another smaller boat store (Marine Exchange) were very helpful but did not have anything that would fit the rung. They thought it looked like an older Garelick ladder. I even tried a pool shop (under the advise of the guy at Marine Exchange) and they also did not have anything that would fit. Before I start trying to whittle a cap myself (which will take all summer) Iwas wondering if anyone else had anidea where I could find one.
