Does anyone have a BMW diesel in your boat? I would imagine parts would be tricky to find, but are these engines generally reliable? Please share any experiences... Thanks, Trevor
I had a little 1 cyl BMW in a 30 ft ultralight .... it was VERY expensive to maintain and, in spite of regular service, it lasted less than 7 years!!! The cost to repower with a Yanmar was less than a rebuild on the BMW!!! The Yanmar has been wonderful (except for a carbon-clogged exhaust port after about 600 hrs). Good Luck !!!
