Blue Water Cruiser

I am doing a research to buy an Hunter 37 1987. I need to know if it is possible for this boat to be a blue water cruiser or if it can be equiped for it.Can I have owners suggestions? What I need to do to make the boat a blue water cruiser? Everything I have been reading suggests that the boat is a coastal cruiser.

As it's built, new, it's a coastal boat.
