Left the blue painters tape on cabin top alongside of the hatch rails way too long. Removal is now a crumbly, fingernail scraping torture. Any suggestions?
try 3m adhesive remover in the spray can don't spray it on nothing but your cleaning rag and just rub it off ..and don't use it or get it on the plexi or lexan or it will be toast you can get it a wally world and most auto parts stores
This is why I prefer Frog Tape. The green stuff. I left some on my boat for a week or a week and half, it came right off. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it to me.
Hit it with a(n) hair dryer then scrape it. It "sholud"come off then. Then try the Goo Gone or Goof Off.
What are you painting? Pam insisted on a "quick" paint job before we went out this year. Two weeks later, all the deck harware and hatches are off of Sparrow and the first coat of EasyPoxy is down. Another week or two of dodging storms and I might get the KiwiGrip on too. Splash in July I bet. It was a cold long spring.
Krud Cutter concentrated Remover, comes in a small bottle with a purple label 9 paint section of any Home Depot or Lowes. Or "Oops" sold at professional paint stores not nearly as nasty as Goof Off, and it works.
used goof off today, worked well. I did learn to use gloves next time, the stuff stings my fingers.
Don, used teak oil on the hatch slides on the cabin top, left tape on too long hoping to get a 3rd coat on.
Gotcha! I'm going to replace mine when I put the hatch back on. There's some Starbord lying around at work, just dying for someone to abscond with it. About an hour ago, I put the first coat on the hatch, the sea hood and the fuel hatch. Looking so much better but still a quick paint job. Tomorrow I'm thinking of a personal day for the Kiwigrip. We'll see.
