Blue Max Interior Question

Ric,

I was looking at your site today. I went to your drawing of your new
interior design. It was a little hard to read, but it looks as if you are
putting in a refrigerator between your new nav station and the stove/galley
on the port side.

In looking at the starboard side it seems as if you are leaving that as
originally designed. This includes the old ice box. Are you keeping the ice
box and adding a refrigerator, both?

Chris,
I had originally planned to put a dedicated nav station in and would have put the refrigerator on the port side as in my diagram. I have since decided to put a dinette in to gain more storage. I raised the settee height 9 inches and am installing 3 drawers under the aft dinette seat and probably two larger ones under the forward seat. Engle now makes a drop in refrigerator that gets strong reviews and is only $995.00. I'll put it where the ice box used to be keeping the galley close to the original layout.

I haven't decided on the final placement for my electronics yet, but will probably have my SSB, VHF and stereo built in just above the dinette table. I've found as I'm doing the building, my concept of what would work best changes, so I try to leave myself some latitude.

I was going to try and use nylon drawer guides for the drawers, but didn't like the way they slid so I found a company that makes stainless steel drawer rails with ball bearings and ordered those. I'm out of town this week so hopefully I get the drawers install this weekend when I'm back. I'm making the drawers out of unfinished cedar (sides) to provide a natural bug repellant. I should have some new pictures up by the end of the weekend.
