Both our scupper elbow fittings, which attach to the scupper inlet itself, are badly cracked. Rain water enters here, flows inside the steering gear cover and into the bilge.

Has anyone seen drawings for this assembly or replaced them with something satisfactorily altogether? I'd rather not remove the Edson yoke on the rudder post.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

After looking at the 30 Parts manual (check it out on the Catalina 30 International Owners Association website), the following scubber unit is comprised of the following:

Scupper hose - 1 5/8 x 1 ft - 9 inch wire reinforced hose
Elbow - 1 1/2 - 45 degree elbow (does not specify material - pvc?)
#28 Stainless Steel hose clamp.

I did not see any details in the cockpit illustration, only the scupper view looking inside the cockpit. Fairly simple set up. Looks l ike easy access under the helmsman's seat.

I would suggest using a two part quick set epoxy on the elbow first to seal the crack before tearing it all apart.

Bob,

Thanks, will give a try, using a hose or something inside to keep epoxy from outside the crack from down sizing the elbow.
