I can't believe that the ferry company wants to stop this useful webcam. Take a look here (http://www.blockisland.com/webcam/)......Ridiculous.....read the full story here...(http://www.blockisland.com/webcam/banished/)Everyone should contact whatever authority they can to stop this .Here is a letter I wrote to the president of the Ferry company at interstate@edgenet.net/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////Susan LindaPresident of Interstate Navigation,Why in the name of heaven would you want to have the Block Island Web Cam stop broadcasting? The threat of litigation is appalling, you and your company should be ashamed of yourselves. This is the most ridiculous abuse of power from a larger corporation and its lawyers against a smaller non threatening entity. I am not sure, but I would speculate that there is no legal merit to your threat of litigation. But I am also very aware that the Blockisland website is probably financially incapable to respond legally to your frivolous, unconstitutional claims. Is this to say that I might be sued for any pictures that I have posted on the Internet that I took over the past summer of Block Island with your ferry service in the background ? All those Block Island tourists better watch out for taking pictures, they might be taken to court.......Is this the negative message you want attached to Interstate Navigation and your ferry service? Does the Rhode Island politicians or Dept. Of Transportation know about this? Maybe all citizens should write a letter/email and make it very clear.Or is it possible that your ridiculous lawyers have scared you into believing that any future incident that might occur could be captured by the webcam and actually hold you liable. I wonder if Ron Kuby and the ACLU know about this attack on a First amendment right. You are located in open air location aren't you? I could see if you had a wall around the docks but you don't. If I am on public property and I can see it with my eyes, then I can record it with film or cameras, it has been held up many times in court. Why do you think the paparazzi have been getting away with taking pictures and film for years....because they are standing on public property taking pictures. Do you own the land where the webcam is located? Do you really want to continue with this "criminal" act of intimidation? If so, then I believe it should be broadcast all over the Internet. Maybe it should be sent to tourist sites, boating sites, Rhode Island Tourism sites and the general media. The negative impact might far outweigh any satisfaction you have in beating this poor webcam site into submission. Please rethink this ill conceived action.ps. I have no relation whatsoever to the aforementioned website or any parties attached to it. I am a private citizen that was made aware of an appalling situation.Thomas SenatorAllendale, NJ
