First, Many thanks to Crazy Dave regarding my previous post on Rigging replacement. I contacted Seco South and the new stays are on the way. Because of the previous problem, I pulled the boat out of the water, and also found numerous small blisters, most 1/4 to 1/2" in diameter, in various parts of the bottom. The boat does not have bottom paint and spends most of its time in the water. I usually clean the bottom with a brush 2 -3 times a summer. My questions are: 1. Should I sand out the blisters, put epoxy paste and then gel coat, or with maybe 20 to 30 blisters, do I need to have the whole bottom done, professionally? 2. Since I leave the boat in the water is a bottom paint required? 3. In previous discussions it was suggested on covering the epoxy with clear plastic. Does this refer to the plastic sheet that is used to help the epoxy cure, or does it refer to another coating? Many thanks.

Good Source of technical advice

Neil I found a forum that is very useful for advice on boat repair. its 'boatbuilding.com' you can post your question there. Also there is a good book which discusses blister repair, one of the International Marine Sailboat Library series, titled Sailboat Hull and Deck Repair by Don Casey. It gives step by step instructions. Hope this helps. Bill
