Blisters
Hey, that looks like our boat when we bought it 10 years ago. The key is to let the blisters dry out as long as possible. We had 100's of dime and pencil sized holes to address. I dremmeled each one out in the fall and started my repairs the following spring. One area we continued to have problems with was the rudder. Blisters came back just as bad even with a barrier coat. Finally a few years ago with the help of a friend I got aggressive with it. When the boat was pulled out for the off-season I blocked it up about 4-5 inches higher than normal. This allowed us to lower the rudder shaft enough to address the rudder/shaft joint. We ground out the offending area and used colloidal and epoxy to reseal the area. I then repaired all the blisters, epoxied the entire surface, barrier coated and put 5200 around the rudder/shaft joint. It's been good ever since. Now if I could do something about that cast iron keel.
