I recently bought a 1989 33.5 The lower yellow light on the shore power switch panel blinks slightly. When I turn on an item with a heavy amp draw the light goes almost out. I have a new shore power cord and a new shore power plug scocket. Any help would be great.

Switch wires!

You could try switching the lights or wires around and see if the other light does the same thing, this way you should be able to identify a light problem ratrher than a power or wiring problem

Blinker repair

I have the same problem with my main power circuit light on my 1990 33.5. I purchased a new one for @ $4. I installed a Blue Sea Volt Meter and Amp Meter above the panel so I know that I'm not having any voltage or current fluctuation problems. Don't forget to turn off AND disconnect your shore power cord before replacement! Have fun!

Check Ground

IT would be a very good idea to check your ground leads, both at the shore panel, as well as on your boat. You can start by putting your meter in AC mode, and checking between the ground lug and the neutral (the larger of the two straight holes in your 3-way sockets on the boat). If you get a reading, you have problems, starting with the failure of your GFI to trip!
