For the last four years I'm using what is probably an acrylic wax. It has brought my weathered 25 year old topsides back to life. I have not had any brown stains around the bow since then, and any scrapes and fender scuffings are pretty easy to repair. The old topsides look hard and shiny.
A word of caution: Not all such products appear to be equivalent. My yard has had back luck with yellowing, and a difficult time with getting rid of the wax (?) of a different brand. So far I've had no problems and no need to strip. Total costs these four years are < $ 150 and < 8 hours of labor for cleaning and wiping the stuff on.
