"The skipper wired in, water's coming in... Captain Paul Cayard, skipper on "Black Pearl" sent a message in that their hull was cracked open and could get worse before they reach Australia. Check their race web site listed here.
They sail up to Eclipse Island, about 1/2 a mile off our South Coast. Looking forward to seeing them however last time the fleet were very close to each other. Never the less a great sight!
I called down to the town jetty at 12 midnight and in she sailed. We spent till about 1.30 this morning setting her lines before the crew dispatched for a needy rest in a bed that doesn't move. Had a chat with Paul and alongside the problem with water coming it appears they now have a broken ram. Mmm Life in the fast lane!
