Has anyone switched their 80's vintage Siedelman over to Bio Diesel. I've heard that the new fuel can soften and breakdown natural rubbers found in fuel lines and fuel pumps built prior to 1994. I'm sure my fuel line is original; I want to switch to a B90 blend but am unsure how to check if my rubber parts will stand up. Thanks Nathan

Rubber isn't forever

There are some issues apparently with using biodiesel in older engines, it doesn't have anything to replace the sulfur which diesels used as a lubricant, similar to the lead in gasoline. But if you have rubber parts and hoses that are +25 years old...it's time to replace them anyway. Rubber parts, belts, hoses, "should" be replaced every five years accoding to Goodyear, Goodrich, Firestone, all those nice name-brand people who make money selling those same rubber parts. They're just not designed to last forever.<G>
