Hello. I have a 27 ft hunter 1978 and I tried taking the compas off to lube the chain and shaft on the binacle but it will not budge.its made of plastic of some sort and I don't want to break it off.any ideas or secret way of doing this? plastic compass collar extension removal
Remove compass . Unduly 3 or 4 small screws on compAss trim
Mounting screws on inside if extension collar.

For a quick try- if you have a YSM - look for the small button where the wheel brake would go- if you do not have wheel brake- shoot in some grease through a straw on the can
