I opted out not to get the Hunter Bimini due to $$$ that I needed for other options. Not sure I made a smart move, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a after-market Bimini with some prices? Maybe Hunter is the way to go for this new of a Boat? I guess the rig installs in to the arch?

What was the Hunter price?

The bimini for that boat is going to be custom (as opposed to an 'off-the-shelf' design) and the Hunter manufacturer has the advantage of not needing a pattern. Chances are, a local canvas maker will cost more, but you should price it out. If that's so you can still get the Hunter bimini through your dealer, I'm sure.

320 Bimini

If you do not opt for the Hunter supplied Bimini make sure any other source you consider will guarantee a proper fit and attend your boat to make adjustments. I just went through a year of attempting to obtain a proper fit and adjustments to a bimini/dodger combo on my 340. My dealer opted not to use the Hunter canvas & used a local supplier. The canvas did not fit properly & the supplier refused to attend the boat to make a proper pattern. Several attempts were required to obtain a satisfactory fit & we finally completed some of the alterations ourselves in frustration.

Try Canvas By Nancy, White Rocks

Just had one made 3 weeks ago for my 34 - looks/fits/works great. I compared to factory supplied Bimini and think mine is better. Cost me $950 at Canvas by Nancy, White Rocks, Passadena, MD. She has made 4 or 5 for Hunters I know of. Don't know how I did without it.

Custom Bimini

Our dealer added a custom dodger/bimini with our boat. We worked with the maker and got a great arrangement. I can't compare it with the one from Hunter, but since we have gone with Navy Blue I didn't want the gray Hunter offered. I think if you simply get a good company and work with them you will get something just fine. And even if you do order the Hunter model, I'll bet in Maryland, like Oregon, it's awfully nice to have a dodger when the weather turns colder and you still want to sail. At least with a custom outfit you could get it all to match. Good Luck.

Try Overtons

I installed a bimini on my H34. Bought it for about $250 from Overton's. I measured and than found the one closest to my measurements and ordered it. I had to cut openings for the split backstay but it was no trouble. Sure cheaper than the price quoted by my local canvas shop.

Custom made

Go with a local business that can come to your boat and fit it, or buy the Hunter product. Don't buy a mail order product.
