We went sailing Saturday and realize that we need to come up with a bimini top to make the day sailing more enjoyable. I had a nice top on my power boat, but, sold the boat right after I bought my Cat22. Can you put a bimini top on a Cat22 and still sail? Where can you get one and what would I look for in measurements?

Thank you Phil, but I have a bit of a budget. I want everything I do to be done professionally but your prices are a little out of my price range. I did not pay much more than that for my boat. I appreciate your response and assistance to help me.

Hi, I've been scoping out bimini's, too. I'm leaning toward one from www.overtons.com. It would be about $200 for one that is 67" wide, 6' long. I'm not sure what height is needed. That price is for "Sharkskin" fabric which is cheaper than Sunbrella (but still has a 5-year warranty like Sunbrella). I think that price includes a boot thing to protect it when it's folded for storage. Definitely do your own measurements! Don't trust my 67" number. I'm also not sure how tall it needs to be. I'm thinking of getting those tracks that you can screw to the cockpit coamings. They let you slide it fore and aft a bit if needed. I also welcome any feedback or tips. Chris I. Clearwater, FL

bimini measurements
The largest bimini top you can use on a C22 is 85" wide X 72" long X 42" high. That said when I bought mine I assumed I would have to cut 4" off but that has not been the case the top was said to be 42-46" high.. I mounted mine on the outside tracks and yes you can sail with the top on.
