bimini top

I'm considering a 6 ft bimini top for my 23. However, with the mainsheet arrangement, I must place the bimini way forward only covering about 1/2 of the cockpit. I can split the top to allow for the backstay, but I would like to keep it up while underway, so I don't think that will work. Looking for suggestions.

I put one....shorter, about 4-ft., right aft...on my O-22 2 or 3 years ago and solved the problem by cutting a 3" hole for the after stay to pass through. Had to move the main sheet forward but the arrangement has worked out fine. Wouldn't work for trailering very well, though.
