My bimini on 1978 H33 has the splitback stays going thru it. I want to fab something to fasten around the backstays and the holes in the bimini to keep most of the water out.
Does anyone have some pictures of their installations that I can see to know how to do mine?
I would appreciate it.

Use a collar

The standard way is to incorporate a turned up collar around the stay. So instead of just a zipper slot you have a turned up piece of cloth along both edges of the zipper on the top side which keep standing water from draining through the opening. It only needs to be an inch or so high.

What I have seen is a sleeve that extends up about 6". The key here is that Sunbrella fabric in NOT abrasion resistant. You will need to sew some nylon webbing around the sleeve to prevent the chafing on the Sunbrella This can then be tied to close the opening (as much as possible).
