Hi Everyone. Well this was the weekend to stay home and work on a few things on the boat. Think I should have gone sailing. First -- My Wife kept complaining about the bimini being to low to enjoy sitting in the stern seats. So the Ameriseam setup is 28" in length for the poles that support the bimini up. I lengthen these to 34". Wow what a difference this makes. I can stand under the bimini without my head touching and Joan can also sit in the seat without bending over. Now this raised up the bimini closer to the mast when it is down, but I had modified the placement of the mast crutch. The horizontal bar that the mast sits in was moved up to the top hole with a Vee shaped roller. This allows the mast to roll much easier when going up or down. Picture on the Photo Forum. Second -- Installed a Boomkicker to installation instructions. Not bad, installed without alot of problems. Used the thinner poles. Can't wait to remove the topping lift, I'm so tired of it catching the sail. Thrid -- Tension the stays, now this is alot of fun. Up and down, Up and down the ladder, my legs hurt. I chickened out and did not tension to the recommended settings. Lower stays where 320lbs and the uppers were 520lbs. I will see how these work while sailing. I'm not going to tell you what they were set before I started. My wife would have helped but she was out saving economy. Jim S/V Java

Enjoy the BoomKicker

You’ll enjoy the BoomKicker. It’s great not having the topping lift to mess with. And if you want to make a rain (or sun) shade, your now free and clear from the mast back.
