We have a 1995 Hunter 26. We are interested in purchasing a bimini. Sailboatowners.com sells a pre-measured rail mount 6 ‘ coverage: aluminum frame 92536.1 or stainless steel frame 92536.2. listed for the hunter 26
Question: will the rail mount 6’ bimini interfere with the boom or the mainsheet system. Are any adjustments required, i.e., cutting the main sail, moving the boom higher on the mast…
We sail in a Colorado reservoir, is the aluminum frame sufficient in strength? Thanks, jim

My bimini and boom overlap by about 12". I just use the topping lift to keep the boom clear when the sail is down. The main sail keeps the boom clear of the bimini when it is raised.

I highly recommend the stainless steel frame. Any bar on a sailboat becomes a handhold at some point.

Mine was manufactured and installed by the dealer so I can't offer any fit information.

I have the factory Hunter bimini on my boat, it overlaps the boom about a foot. The dealer had to install another padeye on the boom for the mainsheet just in front of the bimini. It has worked fine that way and I do not see any problem doing this. The bimini makes a big difference and if the boat had not come with one it would have been my first upgrade on it. I purchased several canvas products for the boat from Hunterowners.com and am very pleased with the fit and quality. My bimini came with the aluminum frame, it works well and I use as a steady when stepping back down into the cockpit. If I was replacing it I would probably buy the stainless, but the aluminum does work fine too.
