Hi folks, anyone ever put a small bimini on an Oday 22? Looking at one that came off of a Catalina 22. 77 inches wide, 56 inches tall. Am wondering if it ca live just behind the backstay, not interfear with the boom and sail, and still give some shade? I hope this photo comes out OK. The rear pulpit is not part of this, it was just holding it up. Any advice? Thanks in advance! Jack

Hey Jack, If the width is ok for your boat, you may be able to cut the tubing down so that it clears the boom while you're sailing. Check the fittings on that. They probably have set screws on them that allow you to take them off. Then, it's just a matter of getting it in the proper place so that it doesn't interfere with the back stay. You may have to do some trial and error to see where it has to go. If you can get your mast up and hang your boom. Run your sail up and see what you have for clearance. I just had my mast up a little while ago in my yard. I'm relocating my fore-stay on my mast for my new roller furler. I'd like to have a Bimini on my boat some day, but right now I have to install my furler and get the sail cut down to fit it. Biminis are worth having on those extremely hot days. I prefer a Bimini over a dodger. Good luck with that. Joe
