My 2005 Hunter 25 came without a bimini and pop-top canvas when I bought it (used). It has all other options. I want to get a bimini for next season and I am torn between ordering a factory bimini for about $900, or getting a custom one made that is slightly bigger. I looked at Hunter 260's before I bought the Hunter 25. The bimini on the 260 is about 6 feet long and really provides good protection. I think the Hunter 25 bimini is 4 feet long. Has anyone put a bigger (longer) custom bimini on their Hunter 25? Also, I want to close it up a little more in the slip so that I can sit in the cockpit without getting too much sun and without feeling like I am in a fishbowl. Can you see the tell tales with the bimini? The window in the factory bimini seems very small to provide good visibility of the sails and telltales. Also, I noticed that my cabin gets wet when through the hatchboards (pretty common). I am going to install a companionway canvas. The dealer is tryng to convince me to get the pop-top canvas too. For $400, it seems like something that I won't use. Comments?

Pop top canvas

We have the pop top canvas & use it every night we are on the boat - we leave it on in both the slip & while at anchor.

Price sounds a little steep --

Just ordered a replacement bimini for my 30 (original frame) for just over $400 from Bank Sails/North Canvas in League City. They have patterns and measuerments for almost any boat made. Might be worth giving them a call if you have not ordered one yet. 1207 Marina Bay Dr Kemah, TX 77565 281-334-7223
